Fantastic cottage in a perfect location! Spent a week here in July with our three children 16,14 and 10. We wanted a peaceful cottage as a base for our activity holiday and we couldn't have chosen a better one. The entire cottage was spotless, with comfy beds, sofas and everything we needed for our home away from home. Carolyn's tips and the little touches made it just perfect. A lovely welcome pack was waiting for us when we arrived, plus plenty of DVDs, board games and beach buckets & spades etc.. Lovely country walks straight from the cottage and a park with playground just down the road. One of the main things we wanted to do was the Velocity 2 zip wire which was less than a 10 minute drive away and I can highly recommend it for the adrenaline junkies amongst you! Snowdon is a stunning 20 minute drive away, such beautiful lakes nestled in the mountains! We also went Gorge Walking, to the beach and enjoyed delicious meals at the Slate (5 minute drive) and Dylans in Menai Bridge. Great kitchen with a large fridge and well stocked with pots, pans etc. which made cooking in nice and easy too. Stunning views from the garden and plenty of space for the 5 of us, would highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful setting but a stone's throw from so much that beautiful North Wales has to offer.

The Cresswell Family,

The Forge provided a great base to explore the best of north Wales and the views are fantastic. Many attractions are a short drive, and we made the most of our National Trust and English Heritage memberships. We took in Caernarfon Castle, Conwy Castle and Penrhyn Castle. In Caernarfon, we jumped on the train for a trip on the Welsh Highland Railway. We enjoyed Conwy, walked along the wall and explored Aberconwy House and Plas Mawr. We also recommend visiting the National Slate Museum with live demos and decorating slate. Our eldest son impressed his friends with a video of him on Velocity 2 at Zip World! We also went for early evening walks in the hills around the Forge. We not only had a great time, but we also learned a lot about the history and traditions of north Wales. Check it out for yourself :-)

Neil Paterson,

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage. As the name really is enchanted! Set in beautiful countryside with stunning mountain views and in such a great location with easy access to so many wonderful places of interest. The cottage has everything you could wish for and our two young nephews loved it!
There are so many things to see and do that our week really wasn't long name just a few places within easy reach we recommend a trip across the Menai bridge to Beaumaris castle on Anglesey, Zip World if you fancy a thrill or two, Caernafon castle, the Llangollen Steam Railway and walking at Lake Ogwen.
We highly recommend a stay at Yr Efail Swynol, it truly is a wonderful, comfortable holiday cottage which has been lovingly cared for and so much thought has been put into its decor. We certainly hope to return again some day. Thanks again!

Chris & Jade Watmore,

Absolutely wonderful. Everything you could need was supplied with enough information supplied by Carolyn as an added extra to the local amenities. Wonderful views across the hills. Enjoyed the fire pit. The girls said “where’s the hot tub” ! We shall return. There were 3 generations of us and everyone really enjoyed everything about this lovely cottage. Thanks a lot, we shall return

Roger Currie,

Lovely well presented cottage, slept 6 of us comfortably. Nice welcome pack. Very good location for the zipwire and Snowdon.

What a wonderful cottage situated in an ideal spot to explore North Wales. Within minutes drive to many places to walk and enjoy the beautiful countryside. The correspondence, helpful advise and little touches at the cottage just added to our stay. We would highly recommend a visit.

Louise Jones,

Such a fantastic cottage for exploring this beautiful part of Wales. We had a fabulous holiday, there really is so much to do and explore locally.
The hosts couldn’t do enough for us and recommended so many different activities to us to keep us busy. Would defiantly recommend and most defiantly return! Our kids loved it, as did we. Thank you, the Barnes

Carla Barnes,

A perfect place for relaxing and exploring Snowdonia. The cottage is really welcoming and comfortable in an extremely peaceful setting with lovely views from the garden. It is spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need to enjoy a wonderful holiday. It is perfectly located to access all the wonderful sights of Snowdonia and close enough to visit Anglesey as well. We are keen photographers and it is only a few minutes drive from the local nature reserve “The Spinnies” at Aberogwen. Here you can while away your time in “water tight” bird hides and enjoy watching a plethora of birds in their natural setting including kingfishers, nuthatches, coal-tits, water rails, wrens, woodpeckers and lots more. There is also a lovely beach where you will see a variety of sea birds including golden-eye ducks. This cottage is a “must visit”. Thank you Carolyn (the owner) for letting us stay in this special place; thanks for the welcome pack and for your excellent communication before and after our visit.

Sheila and Chris,

Absolutely wonderful cottage. Beautiful interior and very comfortable with all you could need provided. The beds were extremely comfortable. The location is excellent too - very rural but within easy reach of all the attractions North Wales has to offer. Will definitely be returning.

Andrew Madden ,

Fantastic cottage in great location for exploring Snowdonia. Cottage is very well equipped and owners’ information book is extremely helpful. Lovely bath and comfortable beds for our aching muscles after climbing Snowdon and bouncing on the trampolines in the Slate Caverns!

Mason Family,

Had a fantastic time at the Enchanted Forge! Stunning accommodation with the perfect combination of beautiful original features and modern home comforts. Loved the wood burning stove! The views from the garden were spectacular. A reasonable drive to the main paths climbing Snowdon (we did the Watkin Path - stunning!) and incredibly convenient for Zip World Velocity 2 - the best experience ever! A wonderful weekend.

Emma Hunter ,

This cottage is perfect!! The location is brilliant - so much to do and so many beautiful places to visit - its a great base for exploring this area of Wales. The cottage has everything you could need - myself, my husband and our two sons (aged 6 years and 3 years) have just returned from a 7 night break at the cottage and it had everything and more we could've possibly needed for a relaxing holiday. The cottage is cosy, comfortable, spotlessly clean and is in a lovely, quiet area. The cottage has a great selection of DVDs / board games and books. The living room is so cosy and comfortable, and the perfect spot to relax and unwind in after a busy day exploring. The kitchen has everything you could need - we had most of our evening meals at the cottage and we cooked everything from pasta to a Sunday roast with no problems! The bathroom is spotless and there is always plenty of hot water for showers etc. All 3 bedrooms are very cosy and comfortable - the main bedroom in particular has a very large, comfy bed. Worthwhile places to visit whilst staying at the cottage include: - A drive over to Beaumaris on Anglesey. - Foel Farm Park which is a great day out, especially for young children (the HUGE bouncy pillow is great fun!! and the animals are incredibly cute!) - South Stack lighthouse on Angelsey. - Trearddur Bay / Beach on Angelsey and a spot of lunch at The Black Seal Restaurant. - Conwy town - lots of beautiful independent shops, lots of cafes and a beautiful little harbour to do a spot of crabbing in. And a walk around the castle walls is a must - the views from so high up are breathtaking!! - Llandudno - for British seaside fun, arcade games, a walk along the pier, lots of cafes (we can highly recommend The Lemon Tree cafe - great staff, delicious food, yummy hot chocolates and a really cute little cafe) and a beautiful beach to play on. - Aber Falls - beautiful waterfalls, the walk for the waterfalls is approx 2 and 3/4 miles and is easy under foot (suitable for prams/pushchairs) - both our boys are very good, keen walkers and they managed it no problems. Absolutely stunning views and scenery, lots of nice spots for a picnic and lots of lovely rock pools to play in once you reach the waterfalls. The owners of the cottage are brilliant - really helpful, friendly and communication has always been great! We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking to visit this area of Wales - you wont be disappointed!! We already cant wait to book our next visit!!!

Almond Family for a stay in March,

What a fantastic place. Our family enjoyed the most amazing weekend, celebrating a 50th birthday and the cottage accommodated our needs perfectly. There is plenty of space and all the facilities you will need as well as being close to lots of local attractions and activities. We just wish we could have stayed longer!! Will definately be returning in the future. Thank you so much for all the homely and welcoming touches, we had a brilliant time.

The Jones Family ,

The Enchanted Forge is a beautiful well maintained cottage. It is very well equipped and family friendly. The main sitting area is ideal as most welsh cottages are cosy but this feels much more spacious for a gathering area together when you are away on holiday. The host Carolyn is lovely and it's reassuring to know that you can communicate easily if there are any things that you may need to request or that can arise whilst away. The local woodland adventure park, National Trust Gardens, Aber Falls walks and stunning coast line a further drive to Nefyn /Abersoch being so easily reached makes this property a real winner for families or walkers.

Maggie Treweek,

We have spent 3 nights at the enchanted forge. Our visit to the area was to assist our daughter at university after she badly sprained her ankle. But we sneaked in some trips out to snowdonia and angelsey.
The house was beautifully warm and spacious. We enjoyed staying there, the bed was comfy and firm as we both have bad backs. We would love to return.

A lovely "home from home" in a good location to explore with lots of space and an abundance of games for the kids. Very cosy with everything we needed and the welcome bag was a lovely touch. Thank you !

Helen Blomeley,

What a fantastic holiday had by all perfect location and perfect cottage complete home from home in fact my 3 year old cried when it was time to leave the cottage!
it had everything we could have needed and just so cosy thank you we will never forget our stay in wales.

Mrs leeder and family,

Thank you for the use of your beautiful cottage for the last week. It was equipped with everything one could possibly need & is perfectly located as a base to enjoy all that North Wales has to offer. We would recommend Conwy Castle & Aber Falls. Also going to the top of Snowdon via the Rangers Trail was a very manageable walk with some wonderful views. I could only recommend this cottage for anyone coming to the area. We hope we can get back as a week was not nearly enough time to explore all the area has to offer.

Gerard Quinn,

what more is there to say. Thankyou. cottage is lovely . very rustic .and excellent base for getting about . we did a fair few activities over the week ,from portmerrion to Baumaris Castle and of course zip world. kids wanted to buy the place as the Wi-Fi is better than at home . would we stay there again , the answer is yes....Thankyou

Paul Davies,

We had a lovely week at this beautiful cottage. The cottage was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, just like home from home. There were plenty of board games, which came in handy on a very rainy Sunday, and our three teenagers were very relieved to have wifi!
We enjoyed visiting the beautiful Aber Falls, and spent a couple of days visiting different places on Angelsey. We also enjoyed some walks in the local area of Llanllechid, it was just so nice and peaceful, and lovely to be away from the usual hustle and bustle. The views from the cottage were stunning.
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage, we hope to visit again!

Mcguinness family,

Loved staying in the cottage and will stay again

Mr Paul McGuinness,

As soon as we arrived we felt at home, but with the excitement of feeling on holiday. Comfortable beds, lovely bath/shower and great views. Perfect location for the Llanberis path up Snowdon (good for young families), close to beaches and so many great walks on your doorstep. Only 20 mins from the beautiful Aber Falls too. Then on the way home we popped into Bounce Below at Zip World. I am already planning my next booking, would like to stay a whole week next time please!

Karen S,

I'm struggling to remember when we felt so relaxed last time during a holiday! Nature has such a calming effect on busy minds and lives. Even though we were walking for hours and very active every day, we have left feeling rested.
Thank you for letting us stay at your lovely home and enjoy the stunning Noth Wales!!! Can't wait to go back for more. xx

Eliza Barlow,

My family had the most wonderful weekend, the cottage itself is stunning, it's surroundings and views are beautiful, my son loved that he could see the cows. The layout of the cottage worked perfectly for us. I would highly recommend to anyone. Just stunning.

Leonie Wright,

A beautiful cottage in a delightful setting. The views and surrounding countryside are breathtaking and the location is very quiet for a peaceful break away from it all. Recommend the slate mines for a visit and also surf snowdonia for the more active visitor (especially for teenagers!).

Anne S,

This enchanting cottage is the perfect base for exploring North Wales. Comfy yet spacious with stunning scenery and great walks close by, this lovely cottage has everything you need for a great holiday. Would not hesitate in recommending to others.

Gill B,

Carolyn's place is a real home from home, cosy yet spacious for our family of 5. Perfect for relaxing after a day climbing snowdon, and the location is great for exploring north wales. The kids especially enjoyed the Xbox Kinect and dvd's which passed a rainy Sunday!!!

Fab cottage, pictures don't do it justice as it is a lot larger than it looks, 4 adults and two teenagers and not on top of each other. Directions brilliant (which you need as it is quite remote) Lovely welcome bag to start you off. Loads of games, books and maps on local area, even had one on walks with buggies which gave us the idea for a route for my Mum (who has a stick) to join us part way up the mountain. Even as wifi which kept the boys happy.

Liz Dobing,

Perfect location !!!– very quiet and just next to a lovely water spring and hardly 10 min drive from Tesco/pub/shops etc. We were a group of boys and had to do Zip World rides and the cottage is 10 min (Velocity) drive from the activity centre. Again, close to Snowdonia and other major attraction points as well. Inside the cottage is very cosy, comfortable yet very meticulously organised (sitting and barbeque facility outside). We really had a wonderful stay and all the arrangements were as per our expectations and everyone enjoyed the stay.

Amol AK,

Quiet, high spec cottage. Wood burner is a welcome feature. Beautiful location with stunning views. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend

Krista B,

The cottage is in a great place for North Wales. I've been 4 times and can't wait for my next trip.

Claire Nicholls ,

Cottage is very quiet and has all the amenities for a nice break . Went here for past 3 Summers , there is lots to do within a short drive . Whether you want a walk in the mountains or along a sandy beach . There are train rides , go karts , zip wires , amusement park and many museums and castles to view .

What a beautiful, unspoilt part of the world! Its quiet and cosy but with lots of things to do. If you're looking for golf, there are several top ranked courses nearby plus a few hidden gems. I've been twice and still haven't played them all - yet.

Superb location and cosy cottage. With wonderful mountain walks, exciting activities and beautiful beaches it is great to return to the cottage and enjoy the cosy lounge or the summer outdoor dining views. We have had brilliant stays at all times of the year!

Clements Family,

The cottage is an awesome place to stay, location is perfect for Snowdon and surrounding areas, would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends.

Wonderful place to celebrate my 40th! Great location for walks, beaches and pubs. The cottage is beautiful, cosy, comfortable and very inviting. We absolutely loved the fire place. Such an amazing break, we will be back again!

We've stayed at this beautiful cottage on a number of occassions and always had a comfortable and relaxing time. It's situation is superb for everything N Wales has to offer, beautiful mountains, beaches and a really good selection of top golf courses.

The Flowers family ,

I have stayed at this cottage many times and no matter when you visit or what season , there is so much to do..the location makes it an ideal base for exploring so many places in north Wales and Anglesey. I love the snowdonia national park for walking or sightseeing..this cottage is perfectly located for all of these. The cottage is really spacious with all modern appliances. Already making plans for a trip this year.

S Turle,

We had a lovely holiday in this cottage last year, everything we could ever want was already provided and it hit just the right balance of cosiness and practicality. Location wise it is perfectly placed in a nice quiet lane with one gated parking space and another on the road next to the building. The surrounding area has lots to offer and we enjoyed all the activities we tried during our stay. These included a Snowdonia walk, Aber Falls walk, South Stack Lighthouse, Llanddwyn (Newborough) beach leading onto Llanddwyn Island and a yummy afternoon tea in Betws-y-Coed. With the zip line, Penrhyn Castle, several other ways up Snowdon and many other walks to conquer we are looking forward to going back. With huge thick walls from it’s past life as a forge and a new log burner hopefully we’ll get snowed in next time!

Nicki S,

An amazing and "enchanting" cottage giving you access to some of the most superb places in North Wales. Snowdon, Beddgelert, Llanberis, Anglesey, Great Orme, the longest zip wire, Slate mines, super beaches....have never been disappointed. Don't take our word for it, try it for yourself. The Mallett Family xx

The Mallett Family ,

The cottage is very cosy and welcoming, great location for Snowdon hikes or sight seeing. Rooms are clean and spacious as is the bathroom. Would definitely recommend a stay here

Tanya P,

Thank you for allowing me to stay in your cottage. It is set in beautiful surroundings and everything appears to be within a 20 minute walking or driving distance. I walked up Snowdonia, visited amazing beaches, ate in fantastic pubs and relaxed in the cottage with great friends in front of the log burner, whilst drinking wine, relaxing, playing games and having a wonderful time. Your cottage offers home from home amenities and is warm, clean, homely and has everything one could want for a week or weekend away. I wish I could have stayed longer. I will be back!

Amanda H,

Fantastic stay again, this was our second trip and will be back again in 2017. Gorgeous cottage, easy to reach the wonderful snowdonia and beautiful beaches in the surrounding area. Great local walks. See you soon!

Natalie starr,

I stayed here with my daughter during the summer months as we were doing a fundraising walk to the peak of Mount Snowdon and this cottage was perfectly located for our requirements as well as being a lovely place to stay. The village as a lovely pub where we were made to feel very welcome and there are also supermarkets nearby. I will certainly be returning at some point to see more of the amazing scenery.

Helen Read,

This is a beautiful cottage, in a lovely quiet area with amazing views. A great location for the gentle walker with some walks on your doorstep and the more serious walker, although I would say that a car was essential particularly if you want to get to Snowdon, Anglesey etc. The cottage is surprisingly spacious, very clean, has an amazing fireplace, good kitchen and dining area if you want to cook and everything you need for a family or group of friends including a large porch to put those wet boots and walking clothes in. You won't go wrong with this one.

The Enchanted Forge is a lovely cottage that is comfortable and welcoming. Its location is superb, close to the very best that North Wales and Anglesey has to offer. We had a very enjoyable stay.
